New user here :)

I hope it's ok to post these as is; it didn't feel right to open a thread for each question.

Broken links:
While navigating the website and forums, I found the following links that seem to be broken:
http://www.davidwaltersdevelopment.com/ ... ortref.pdf
http://www.davidwaltersdevelopment.com/ ... ortref.pdf
http://www.davidwaltersdevelopment.com/ ... melink.pdf
http://www.davidwaltersdevelopment.com/ ... php#legacy
Q1-Are these PDFs needed nowadays?
Q2-Will they be migrated to the new gridcartographer.com domain?

Ending 32-bit support:
According to viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1778, 32 bit support stopped with the release of 4.0.4.
Q3-Was the last 32-bit version 4.0.3b?
Q4-Would you consider including links to last 32-bit version either in that thread or in the main download page?
Q5-Does this mean new versions will not work in 32-bit OS? Or does it mean you won't provide support for people running on 32-bit OS?
Q6-Also, did previous version (ie. 4.0.3b and older) include both 32 and 64-bit executables? Just 32-bit?

Android:
I could find these as the latest version for Android:
x86: 3.0.7c
ARM: 3.1.3
Q7-Is this correct?
Q8-Any plans for v4 Android?
Q9-Will you still support both x86 and ARM? Or just ARM?
Q10-Do I need a key to run the 3.x Android versions above? If so, how can I get one?

Upgrade to Pro:
I bought a Gamer license for now, but plan to upgrade to Pro in the future.
Q11-Should I uninstall Gamer and install Pro from scratch?
Or can the Pro installer be used as upgrade?
Q12-If I need to reinstall in the future (ie. after formatting my PC), will I have to install first Gamer, then Pro?
Or will I be able to install Pro directly?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi there, no problem having a big thread or lots of little threads :)

Sorry about the bad links - none of these are needed now. The first two 'export ref' files are now updated and part of the User Manual. The GC3 gamelink instructions are part of the User Manual also and the legacy downloads for v3 are no longer available (to avoid confusion since they're no longer supported) but I do send links to them if requested.

3 - Yes
4 - I'd be reluctant to since it's out of date now and won't load maps from newer versions.
5 - Grid Cartographer is a 64-bit only project now, it will no longer work or even install on 32-bit operating systems.
6 - Yes, previous versions had both builds in the installer - this was extra effort and I felt that the adoption rate of 64-bit systems in 2017 was such that I could save time (and potential memory issues) by dropping this feature.

Android was supported in v3 but I've moved away from that platform to focus on the desktop versions. It's very much out of date now and is no longer available. Apologies for the inconvenience, I have limited resources and, like ending the 32-bit support, this has allowed me to continue working on the core desktop version.

The Gamer and Pro editions are quite separate. They install to different folders, have different locations for configuration data and the license key only works in the correct 'lock' so to speak. You don't need to uninstall the Gamer edition if you were to upgrade to Pro (but there would be no reason I can see to keep it around at that point) and if in future you wish to reinstall your PC or w/e you'd only need to install the Pro version again.

Thanks for your questions. Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to know more!

Wow, didn't expect such a prompt and complete response!
Thanks, much appreciated!!! :tiphat:

Here's hoping the Android version comes back someday as tablets are great devices for doing maps on the go.
