Another idea for making it easier to do mapping of tile-based overhead games like Ultima. The ability to configure a box centered on the avatar marker in the appropriate size. This would correspond with your visible window and be easy to tell how what you're mapping matches up with what you can see in game. So, for example, in Ultima IV the visible map in-game is 11x11, so if I specified an 11x11 square it would center on the avatar and look similar to the region tool.
